Bulletin Boards

Classroom bulletin boards represent what students are learning, help students to improve their work, and highlight their accomplishments. Your efforts to continue showcasing the work of our children and taking the time for comments, corrections are very much appreciated!

Please be sure to update your bulletin boards at least ever 6-8 weeks.  Remember to include a standard, criteria chart and feedback to the students.  There should be at least three boards reflecting student work:  Writing, Math and ELD.

Notice of Unsatisfactory Progress
As we are half-way through the second reporting period, it is once again time to inform parents of students performing below proficiency. Please download and print the notice, have me sign them, and distribute to students this week. Parents have the right to be notified if their child will be receiving a one or two.

Valentines for Heroes

Congressman Tony Cárdenas invites you and your students to express your appreciation for our veterans by creating hand-made Valentine’s Day cards. If you are interested in participating, please have completed Valentine’s Day cards dropped-off in Martiza’s box by Tuesday, February 6.

Volunteers

As discussed at our last Faculty Meeting, there are a few important changes to the LAUSD Volunteer Policy to support the safety of our students.  These include:

-any volunteer working directly with students must have been fingerprinted in addition to completing an online application and have a TB test on file

-parents, who are not registered volunteers, attending a field trip must complete a one-time volunteer application.  This one-time volunteer application can only be used once a school year.

-you can continue to drop items off to room 5 and our current volunteers will gladly complete it.

If you have any further questions, please see Maritza or myself.

Staff New Year’s Brunch

Happy New Year 2018!  On Tuesday, January 16, 2018 all Noble Staff is invited to a New Year’s Brunch hosted by the Leadership Team.  It will take place in room 23  during your recess time.  See you there!

Everybody Reads

Everybody Reads will take place on Saturday, January 20, 2018.  Please encourage students to attend.  We are at risk of the program being cancelled due to low participation.  It is a wonderful program where students have the opportunity to receive one on one support with reading.  Students also receive a free book. Flyers will be sent home this week.

Bonding with Benchmark

On Thursday, January 18, 2018 I will be facilitating a voluntary afterschool meeting where we will be discussing and sharing activities that can be implemented during Benchmark small group time.  The voluntary meeting will be held in Room 23.  Please bring any ideas you would like to share.

Kindness Week

Kindness Week will take place on January 22, to January 26, 2018.  We will have a variety of activities that will take place including our Daily Healthy Breakfast Snacks. I will place the sign-in by the time cards in the main office.  The breakfast will be set up in Nury’s office. The following shows who has been assigned to bring in a healthy snack for breakfast throughout the week (we used the same schedule as last year).
